What do fine lines, wrinkles, fatigue, and memory loss have in common? They’re all signs that you’re getting older. Can you do anything to halt the signs of aging? Absolutely!

At Viva Health Group, with locations in Clifton and Clark, New Jersey, board-certified OB/GYN Dr. Aleksander J. Bodnar and the team can help you regain a more youthful appearance, as well as improve your flagging memory and energy, all without undergoing any invasive procedures.

Here’s what you need to know about the anti-aging treatments we offer.

First, a word about collagen

Collagen is a fibrous protein found in your muscles, bones, organs, skin, and other connective tissues. It’s the most common protein in your body, and it gives strength and tone to your skin and other structures.

When you’re young, your body churns the stuff out, but in your mid-20s, production starts to drop. That leads to a variety of conditions we associate with aging:

  • Skin forms fine lines and wrinkles
  • Wounds heal more slowly
  • Tendons and ligaments lose flexibility
  • Muscle mass decreases, leading to fatigue
  • Cartilage wears down, leading to joint pain or osteoarthritis
  • Intestinal lining thins, leading to digestive problems

You can also lose your collagen supply if you have a poor diet, one that doesn’t contain the necessary amino acids and the nutrients to process them.

Understanding the different types of anti-aging treatments

Here at Viva Health Group, we offer a wide range of anti-aging treatments, which we customize to your unique needs. Treatments include:

Nano-sized vesicles therapy

Exosomes, or extracellular vesicles, are tiny lipid bubbles that transport proteins, growth factors, and anti-inflammatory factors between cells. They can also be used to target drug delivery to certain cells.

We use them to deliver the nutrients necessary to reduce the visible signs of aging and prevent age-related diseases.

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT)

Hormone imbalances, either from menopause (estrogen) or andropause (low testosterone), can lead to fatigue, weight gain, concentration problems, and memory loss. BHRT uses a plant hormone identical to what your body produces to readjust your levels, preventing decline.

Senolytic therapies

Lingering senescent (nonfunctional, damaged, or dead) cells are an important cause of aging and age-related dysfunction, signaling the immune system to trigger chronic inflammation, degrading surrounding tissues, and encouraging other cells to become senescent.

Senolytic therapy removes these cells from your body.

NAD+ IV therapy

All your cells contain NAD+. It not only helps convert food to energy, but it also plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of your DNA, protecting you from disease and aging.

We infuse your body with NAD+ through an IV to improve energy levels, boost mental clarity, and decrease pain. We can also use IV therapy to deliver vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and medications directly into your bloodstream, allowing for immediate and maximum absorption.

Platelet-rich plasma therapy

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is made from your own blood and is used to stimulate your body’s natural healing abilities.

Platelets are responsible for clotting and contain many growth factors important in healing. We isolate them from your blood sample, injecting them where they’re needed to heal wounds, damaged joints, and even wrinkled skin.

Acoustic shockwave therapy

Acoustic wave therapy is a revolutionary new facial tightening technique. We send sound waves into your skin that penetrate the outer and subcutaneous layers and affect cellular metabolism.

The result is increased fat release and greater blood and lymphatic flow, the latter of which provides greater nourishment for the skin. It also stimulates new collagen production, making fine lines and wrinkles disappear.

How often you come in for treatment depends on the nature of your problems and the number of treatments you require. Dr. Bodnar may recommend once a month to start, so you’re regularly getting proper skin care and anti-aging services.

After you’ve completed your initial treatments, he generally recommends maintenance appointments once or twice a year.

If you’re experiencing any of the signs of aging and want to take charge of how you look and feel, Viva Health Group has you covered. Give us a call at either of our locations to schedule a consultation with Dr. Bodnar, or book online with us today.
